Non-Discrimination Policy

The Tacoma Fire Buff Battalion celebrates the differences with which each person enriches the world. Our community actively seeks and welcomes the richness and joy that comes from the widest breadth of cultures and experiences.

The Tacoma Fire Buff Battalion shall not engage in illegal discrimination. The Battalion follows the lead of the Tacoma Fire Department in adopting the City of Tacoma’s EEO statement against illegal discrimination. As such, the Tacoma Fire Buff Battalion endorses as its official policy the following City of Tacoma EEO statement:

The Tacoma Fire Buff Battalion shall provide equal opportunity for all members, employees, and applicants  by ensuring that its workplaces are free from illegal discrimination, including harassment, based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender (including "gender identity"--which refers to a person's actual or perceived sex, and includes self-image, appearance behavior or expression, whether or not different from that traditionally associated with the legal sex assigned to the person at birth), age, disability, alienage or citizenship status, marital status, sexual orientation or veteran status.
